About our meat
Our flock of over 300 Lleyn and Jacob ewes spend the year grazing the permanent pasture and parkland across Harefield Farms.
To get the tastiest meat and the best cuts possible, we have a selection of rams that we put to the Lleyn ewes; these include pure Lleyn, Texel, Suffolk X, and Charollais rams. We keep our Jacob flock pure-bred to get beautiful wool from their fleeces, as well as excellent hogget.
Born in the spring, our lambs are 100% grass-fed; we sell our Lleyns lambs at around 6 months, but let the Jacob lambs mature to 18 months to be sold as hogget. This extra time produces larger cuts of meat with a great depth of flavour, but still as tender as lamb! The lamb and hogget meat is hung on the bone for 10 days; both are perfect for roasting and BBQs, and become melt-in-the-mouth when slow-cooked in casseroles.
All meat is butchered professionally and locally, therefore specific requirements can be catered for.

Porky Products
Throughout the year we introduce small numbers of British Saddleback X pigs to the farm. Outdoor bred and slow-reared, our pork is juicy and sweet. Also locally butchered, we have a great selection of cuts on offer as well as sausages, bacon, and home-cured gammon.

Availability
We pride ourselves on producing delicious, home-grown meat. Frozen meat is available throughout the year and fresh meat is available to order at certain times when our animals have reached the optimum weight - keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on our order times!
